Shyness - It's OK to be Shy

It is okay to be shy. There is nothing wrong with being shy. I am shy and I am proud of being shy and you should be proud to be shy as well!

Shyness is often confused with a lack of confidence but I disagree with that. I consider myself a confident person. Yes, in social situations I am usually one of the quiet ones and I don’t say much. But that is not because I lack confidence or because I am afraid to speak. It is simply me being myself. I am happy not to be the centre of attention and just to sit back and listen.

If you came across this social anxiety and shyness blog looking for methods to overcome your shyness then I would say that instead of wanting to ‘cure’ shyness, just accept yourself for who you are. Anxiety Lie: A New Inavitive Approach To Overcome Social Anxiety

The main area of my knowledge on social anxiety is with a condition called shy bladder or paruresis. Paruresis is a social anxiety that means I struggle to pee in public restrooms. At first I did not even realise that paruresis was a form of social anxiety but the more I researched the more I learned. The more I learned about the facts, the better equipped I became to tackle the condition.

Previously I had been seeking out paruresis tips on how to cope with the condition, which led me to producing my shy bladder tips website and this shy bladder (paruresis) blog. But I did not just want to cope with paruresis; I wanted to completely overcome it.

I think it is the same with all forms of anxiety. We don’t just want to have to cope with it. We don’t want to just use a couple of tricks that will temporarily reduce our anxiety because before long those tricks will no longer work as the body and negative thinking of the mind adapts to them. We continuously need to find new tricks and techniques via trial and error to help us cope. It is exhausting!!

That’s why I firmly believe that extra hard work is required in order to properly overcome the condition, not just cope with it.

There is a lot of rubbish out there that is designed to take your money and give you nothing in return. What sells books and Ebooks is a nice comforting sales pitch. What sells is being comforted, being pampered, being told how special you are, being fed inspiration and motivational quotes. A lot of that is just bullshit and has no weight behind it. I would know! Many a time I have shelled out $97 on the latest hot quick fix and have never gotten far with those products.

Those products are designed to take your money and temporarily make you feel better. They will not get to the route of the problem and will not allow you to overcome social anxiety. So if you are looking for a product to purchase then I would much prefer you to spend your money or something that is mostly not bullshit. And as far as I can tell the percentage of bullshit in the Anxiety Lie product is pretty low.
